The Legend

The bat was named after the monster.

Europe had its vampire long before it had the bat. When word came back from South America of a small creature that drank blood in the dark, the monster already existed and simply grew wings. Every cape that has ever turned into a bat owes its trick to a naturalist's field note. This one hangs at the sternum, wings open, deciding.

The craft

Ink sits on cloth. Thread lives in it.

Each emblem is sewn in dense flat stitch straight into the Tultex 245, so it catches the light the way a print never will. It will still be there when the print on every other shirt in the drawer has cracked and gone. The contrast sleeves are cut in, not dyed on. Three-quarter length, the way a raglan was always meant to be.

Flat embroidery, stitched not printed. The emblem is sewn in dense flat stitch, so it sits in the fabric rather than on top of it and will not crack, peel or fade.
